Longcase clock by Charles Hayley 1781-1825 – longcase clock for sale

The clock is 7 fee 5 inch high containing a 12 inch brass dial. The longcase clock is housed in a stunning mahogany case with flame vaniers to the long door and base.

The dial has queen head spandrels to the four corners, a matted center with a globe above the rococo engraving. Large date indicator above the 6 and seconds indicator below the 12. The arch with dolphin spandrels enclosing a disc with Tempus Fugit inscribed. Within the disc is a superbly engraved autometer of Mr Punch. The chaptering has Arabic and Roman numerals, the seconds indicator and original hands are personant to the period and are made of blued steel. The attractive mahogany hood has 4 straight mahogany pillars. The brass fretwork to the hood is stunningly placed each side of the brake arch. A famous London Clock maker who worked from Wigmoor Street for most of his life.
